FM Borhan Uddin as the new Bangladesh Ambassador to Philippines

The government has appointed FM Borhan Uddin as the next Ambassador of Bangladesh to the Republic of the Philippines. He is currently serving as the director general of the West Asia Wing and coordinator of the Corona Cell at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Borhan is a career foreign service officer belonging to the 15th batch of Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) Foreign Affairs cadre, said the ministry in a statement on Sunday. He served in various capacities in Bangladesh Missions in Cairo, Dubai, Seoul and Colombo throughout his distinguished diplomatic career. He also served as the consul general at Bangladesh Consulates General in Istanbul and Jeddah and worked for multiple wings in different capacities at the headquarters. Borhan did his graduation and post-graduation in sociology from Dhaka University. Later, he obtained another degree in law (LLB Hons.) from the University of London.
