Bangladesh’s largest lake Kaptai was the result of the construction of Kaptai Dam on Karnaphuli River in Rangamati. Popular for delightful boat rides and wonderful sunsets, the changes in the lake’s water level in different seasons also create an illusion, making the surrounding beautiful hills — which are also just right for light trekking — appear bigger or smaller from time to time. Kaptai Lake is also a perfect spot for kayaking for its visitors. The long waterways also make an easy route to the popular destinations in the hilly district. Ethnic People of Bangladesh have some common characteristics, they have their own lifestyles. They build their houses on bamboo or wooden platforms. Rice is their staple food. Men wear lungi and women wear this or sarongs and angles. The rich tribal life of Bangladesh specially Chittagong hill tracts where over than 13 indigenous groups forming a luminous cultural landscape on the hilly topography. Situated in the far southeastern corner of Bangladesh, bordering Myanmar (Burma) the Chittagong Hill tracts are home to over a half a million indigenous peoples of 14 unique tribes. Much of the traditional lifestyle is still preserved - tribal kings, village headmen and a self-sustaining, natural lifestyle.
