A clash between college students and market traders by Hossain Ahmed
Fighting day and night, a massive clash between the students of Dhaka college and the traders of Dhaka New Market lasted for two long days at New Market, Dhaka. Including journalists, at least 50 people were injured in that clash. The fighting started on Monday night over a disagreement at a fast food shop and spilled over into daylong clashes on Tuesday, claimed the life of a teenaged courier service employee. Police tried controlling the situation standing alongside with traders. Witnesses said that over one hundred students attacked both shops and traders. In return they also chase students with sticks or locally made weapon. The circle continued with a break. As a result, vehicular movement was suspended from Azimpur to Science Laboratory intersection. Moreover an ambulance was vandalised in the New Market area during the clash.
