Bangladesh: Cai Qing's Expedition - Dialogue with performance artists and curators at Chittagong by Md Zakir Hossain
Performance art is a spontaneous and unique form of artistic expression created by artists using their bodies and wisdom at a specific time and place.
This time, Chitrobhasha Gallery is presenting Dr. Cai Qing, prominent multi-talented artist including performance art, curation and art critique for his Live Art Tour in Chittagong, Bangladesh.
As a contemporary artist, Dr. Cai Qing uses performance, installation, video and pictures to express his ideas. The concept in most of his art is the “observer” and “observed”, focusing on people of various backgrounds in different societies. He enjoys the interaction with different people and his works find inspiration in many of their life stories.
The program is also accompanied by a two-day performance art workshop jointly organized by the Faculty of Arts and Humanities, Chittagong University and Chitrobhasha Gallery.
