NY: Security Council meeting on Kosovo by Lev Radin
Russian Ambassador Vassily Nebenzia speaks at SC procedural conversation at UN Headquarters in New York. Russia on 25th anniversary of Nato intervention into Former Republic of Yugoslavia requested a Security Council meeting. Russia attempted to make parallels between NATO intervention and their own war against Ukraine. There was hitted exchange between Ambassadors of France Nicolas De Riviere and Russia Vassily Nebenzia on agenda for the meeting and eventual vote on procedural agenda returned results as 3 in favor (Russia, Algeria, China) and 12 abstained (United Kingdom, United States, Malta, Slovenia, Sierra Leone, Mozambique, Republic of Korea, Ecuador, Japan, France, Switzerland, Guyana), meaning that meeting has been canceled.
