Greece: Protest of Beekeepers in Athens by Dimitrios Karvountzis
Beekeepers from all over Greece flooded the Syntagma square in Athens, claiming the vindication of the sector's demands.
The demonstrators set up beehives in front of the parliament and with banners and slogans they demand solutions to the problems that "bring" beekeeping to its knees.
The protestors had ask to put a stop to Greekization by separating imported from Greek honeys.They were also demanding interventions to reduce production costs, tax-free oil and a modification of the fire-fighting provision that prohibits the entry of beekeepers into the forests.
