Hindu devotees pray with sweets, fruits, and flowers on the riverbank of the Ganges or river Hooghly as a vedic ritual during the dusk hours offerings to the Sun God which is considered a component of the soul, parent, ancestor, respect, and high government functions in Hinduism, of the multi-day annual Chhath festival.
