Spain: The Animal Welfare Law comes into force by Alberto Brevers
On September 26, the Animal Welfare Law comes into force in Spain, although it will not be comprehensive since it requires a regulation for its application that has already been prepared but could not be submitted to the Council of Ministers for approval given the internality of the Government.
Exhibiting animals in shop windows, buying them in physical stores or through the Internet, circuses with animals, dog fights or euthanizing an animal unless it is due to extreme necessity and under veterinary supervision will be prohibited in Spain starting this Friday. September 29, with the entry into force of the Law on the Protection of Animal Rights and Welfare.
