Several professional musicians, music conservatory students, amateurs and the general public are seen on Friday, September 22, 2023, playing a grand piano that is placed on a street in Madrid (Spain). A dozen grand pianos (two of them grand grand piano) once again flood the city of Madrid in ten emblematic places in the Las Letras neighborhood, an initiative promoted by the Jesus Serra Foundation and the Maria Canals Competition which is celebrating its 12th edition, transforming the Spanish capital into an open-air auditorium. 'Your city is filled with pianos' ('Tu ciudad se llena de pianos' in Spanish), is being developed for another year thanks to the collaboration of the Madrid City Council and the association of merchants of the Las Letras neighborhood, where Madrid residents and visitors will be able to enjoy a variety of pieces played on the piano. The objective of this initiative is to bring outdoor music and, specifically, the practice of the piano closer to citizens. Similarly, 'Your city is filled with pianos' aims to bring music and pianos closer to society, in addition to discovering talents of the grand instrument, so that they can participate in the Maria Canals International Music Competition (which has celebrated its 68th edition).
