Germany: BMW Berlin Marathon in Berlin

Tens of thousands from all over the world come to Berlin to run the marathon. The organizers expect over 45,000 runners from around 150 nations. Hundreds of thousands of people are also expected to watch the marathon from the sidelines.As was the case last year, the starting point of the 42,195 kilometer route is the Street of June 17th. From there it goes via Ernst-Reuter-Platz to Alt-Moabit, then via Otto-von-Bismarck-Allee, Reinhardtstraße, Torstraße and Karl-Marx-Allee to Strausberger Platz. The route leads south via Lichtenberger Straße, Heinrich-Heine-Straße, Moritzplatz, Kottbusser Tor and Kottbusser Damm to Hermannplatz in Neukölln, past Hasenheide and along Gneisenaustraße. Head west via Yorckstrasse, Grunewaldstrasse and Martin-Luther-Strasse to the Schöneberg town hall. Inwards the city it goes via Friedenau, Schmargendorf, Hohenzollerndamm to Konstanzer Straße, Kurfürstendamm and Wittenbergplatz. The route leads to Potsdamer Platz via Kleiststrasse and Potsdamer Strasse. The last stretch leads along Leipziger Straße to Gendarmenmarkt and across Unter den Linden street through the Brandenburg Gate to the finish on Straße des 17. Juni.
