Bangaldesh: A colourful procession was held in the capital on the occasion of Janmashtami

Dhaka, September 6, 2023 – Janmashtami, the birth anniversary of Lord Krishna, was celebrated across the country on Wednesday with processions, discussion meetings, recitation of Shrimad Bhagat, evening aarti, kirtan, cultural programs, theme-based seminars, and other programs. On this day, the traditional religion celebrated the day with the belief that Shri Krishna appeared on earth by lighting the house of Mother Devaki and Baba Basudev in the Kangs jail in Mathura to suppress evil and nurture discipline. The procession started from Dhakeshwari Temple at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday to mark the day. The procession passed through Palashi Mor, Jagannath Hall, Central Shaheed Minar, Doyel Chattar, High Court, Bangabazar, Nagar Bhaban, Golapshah Shrine, Gulistan Mor, Nawabpur Road, Roy Saheb Bazar Intersection and ended at Bahadur Shah Park.
