The Spanish drag queen and multidisciplinary artist, Onyx, artistic name of Pablo Durango (Madrid, 1988), known for competing in the second season of Drag Race Spain, is seen on stage on Friday, August 18, 2023, in the Conde Duque Cultural Center, in Madrid (Spain). Several artists from the drag scene participated in the show 'Sequins and castanets. A transvestite tribute to the divas of Spanish folklore', in which the artists take a journey through reinterpretations of the most iconic songs of great folkloric women, taking advantage of the 100th anniversary of the birth of the most important folkloric in the country, Lola Flores. The performance addresses an artistic form with centuries of history, particularly inserted in Spanish LGTBI+ popular culture since the 1970s, and which is now undergoing a renewal and a new wave of popularity, with new generations of drag creators who are arriving very strongly.
