View of destroyed Church of the Holy Mother in village of Bohorodychne in Donetsk region by Russian forces during occupation from August 2022 until September 2022. Russian forces attacked the village in May 2022 and finally occupied the village in August for 2 months, it was liberated in September 2022. From the hills surrounding the village Russian forces shelled and destroyed homes, school and the famous Church of the Holy Mother of God ‘Joy of All Who Sorrow’. The church became a convent of the Sviatohirsk Lavra in 2008. The church belongs to the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (Moscow Patriarchate).
