Indian paramilitary troopers stand guard in the city center ahead of the G20 summit in Srinagar, Indian administered Kashmir, India. The Group of Twenty (G20) is the premier forum for economic cooperation worldwide. All major international economic issues are influenced and strengthened by it. On May 22-24, the Kashmir Valley will host the third G20 tourism working group meeting under India's presidency. After the India revoked Indian-administered Kashmir's special autonomy status in August of 2019, the meeting will be the first major international event in the disputed region since then. By hosting the meeting in Srinagar, India is likely highlighting its rich geographic diversity.
