Unseasonal snowfall in several areas of Kashmir brought back winter-like conditions in the Valley, and officials recorded multiple cases of tourists and nomadic people becoming trapped because of bad weather. Early morning snowfall in the Valley's Gulmarg, Pahalgam, Sonamarg, and Qazigund districts caused the roads to become slick, according to the officials. In the Qazigund region of the Anantnag district of south Kashmir, at least 10 persons are stranded, including 8 tourists. Also heavy snowfall damaged crops and orchids in the Kulgam district. These are unexpected, unseasonal snowfalls in the month of May that has led to a damage of crops and orchid. It has also left several tourists stranded. Snowfall in the month of May is not really a usual affair.
