An initiatives of Meghdutam Foundation for an Islands by Sayantan Chakraborty
In vulnerable island village of Iswaripur, Kakdwip, Sundarban, South 24 parganas, 86.7 Km away from Kolkata ; Jaydeep Mukherjee, founder of a nongovernmental and non profitable body 'MEGHDUTAM FOUNDATION' took initiative steps by installing 'SAFE DRINKING WATER PROJECT ' with the help of N & R Karnani Trust.
This project provides safe drinking water to more than 8000 villagers by boring 1350 feet crossing 7 layers of large source of well and installed a submersible pump to lift water to a height of 30 feet overhead tank and prevent them from scarcity of water along with health hazards and other waterborne diseases.
Swaguna Mukherjee , the secretary of the Meghdutam Foundation inaugurate this project on 7th October 2021.
The International benchmark of Total Dissolved Solid (TDS) which is 500 mg/liter considered as safe drinking water, this project shows 422 mg/liter of TDS which is a big achievement of this project.
Villagers of Iswaripur are grateful, immensely benefitted as well as thankful to Meghdutam Foundation.
