The production of potato processed products such as chips, flakes, other food and products is increasing in the country over the past few years. According to the international organization Catalyst, at least 20 potato processing factories have been established in the country. According to the Department of Agricultural Extension, the annual yield of potatoes has crossed crores of tonnes a few years ago. Basically since 2002 potato production in Bangladesh has been increasing at a great rate. While it takes five to six months to get a proper yield of potatoes in Europe, it takes three months to get potatoes in Bangladesh. Adaptation to the soil, water and climate here has reduced the duration of potato production.
