Irish Week in Madrid: the “San Patricio” station

Alberto Sibaja

On the occasion of the Irish patron saint's day, Metro Madrid and Turismo Irlanda have prepared a program full of activities that take place in the San Bernardo and Chamartín stations. Metro de Madrid, the San Bernardo station will be renamed “San Patricio”. This time it doesn't have to do with any confusing advertising campaign, the change will take place for Ireland Week. The capital's metropolitan railway network has decided to pay homage to the Irish patron saint with a whole program of activities and events, including this symbolic gesture at the Madrid station. To bring the true spirit of St. Patrick's Day to Madrid, Irish artists fill the station with traditional music. The University College Dublin Dance Society group shows the essence of this festivity, as if it were a fun evening in an Irish pub.
