Romeo and Juliet in Bengali Language by Soumyabrata Roy
Romeo and Juliet is a tragedy written by William Shakespeare early in his career about the romance between two Italian youths from feuding families. It was among Shakespeare's most popular plays during his lifetime and, along with Hamlet, is one of his most frequently performed plays. Surprisingly Romeo and Juliet were performed in a remote village in West Bengal in the Bengali language in imitation of the ancient Bengali Culture in a bit of a colorful way some male actors act as females and named 'Bhanu Sundiri Pala' organized by Tehatta Angikar Goshthi Club.
