Church Cancels The Yearly Traslacion of Black Nazarene in Manila by Ryan Eduard Benaid
Devotees of Black Nazarene visits Quiapo Church in Manila, Philippines on it's feast day, January 9, 2022. Because of sudden surge of COVID-19 cases with Omicron Variant threat in the Philippines that leads the government to reimposed alert level 3 in National Capital Region, Quiapo Church in Manila cancels the yearly tradition called Traslacion of devotees of Black Nazarene to avoid mass gathering and spread of coronavirus. Despite of the said guidelines, devoted catholics are still trying to reach the barricaded church to offer their personal prayers.
