Microplastics concern - Indian jackal - World Environment Day

The wild Indian jackal (Canis aureus indicus), a subspecies of golden jackal, a wolf-like canid native comes from the jungle and rests in the area where forest trees are being cut down and plastic packets are scattered around at Tehatta, West Bengal, India, on October 26, 2024. The World Environment Day 2025 theme is "Ending Plastic Pollution." Microplastics are a growing concern for animal health, especially in mammals, as they can accumulate in tissues and enter the food chain.
