The uprising of May 2, 1808 is the name by which the events that occurred in Madrid, Spain against the French invasion of Spain are known. after the repression of the protest by the Napoleonic forces present in Madrid, the insurrection in all of Spain, which would lead to the war of Spanish independence. More than 300 people, horses and cannons have participated in this historical representation, including a parade in historic Madrid, Paseo del Prado, Alcalá, Puerta del Sol, Mayor, Postas, Plaza Mayor, Ciudad Rodrigo, Plazuela de Santiago and Requena. commemorating the May 2 Uprising in the Plaza de Oriente, which concluded with the reproduction of hymns and the deposit of a laurel wreath with a commemorative plaque.
