Books like Fortunata and Jacinta, by Galdós; Harry Potter by J.K. Rowling o Todo Arde, by Juan Gómez Jurado, have taken the form of benches located in "strategic places in the city" to rest and read as part of the Madrid City Council's campaign in collaboration with the Penguin Random House publishing house 'Sit down reading- sit down to read'. Both join this initiative as cultural agents that provide reading, with the aim of boosting the activity of municipal libraries and bookstores in the city, especially the small local and specialized ones. Using a QR code in each of the banks, you can browse information on the city's cultural and commercial facilities. The deputy mayor, Begoña VillacÃs, and the delegates for Culture, Andrea Levy, and for the Economy, Miguel Ãngel Redondo, presented this campaign this Tuesday in the Plaza de Cibeles, next to the Paseo del Prado kiosk, where the book Invisible, by Eloy Moreno.
