Greece: Kurdish activists hold Marathon protest march to the Turkish Embassy in Athens

Dozens of Kurdish activists hold a 42-kilometer protest march from the historic Marathon village in Attica to the Turkish embassy in Athens, holding flags and shouting slogans such as "Freedom for Ocalan”. On this day 23 years ago (on 15 February 1999) the Turkish and US secret services took captive the revolutionary Kurdish leader Abdullah Öcalan in Kenya on his way from the Greek embassy to the Airport, and since then he remains imprisoned
