Heatwave Sweeps across Bangladesh by Rubel Karmaker
A heatwave is sweeping across Bangladesh, including the capital city Dhaka. The Meteorological Department has issued a heat alert, warning people of the dangers of extreme heat.
Temperatures have soared to over 40 degrees Celsius (104 degrees Fahrenheit) in some parts of the country. This has led to a number of health problems, including heatstroke and dehydration.
Low-income people are especially vulnerable to the heatwave, as many of them do not have access to air conditioning or other forms of cooling. To escape the heat, many people have taken refuge under the shade of trees in parks.
The heatwave is expected to continue for several days. People are advised to stay hydrated, avoid strenuous activity during the hottest part of the day, and wear loose-fitting clothing.
