PETA India members demonstrated in Kolkata against the use of poisonous leather by Sayantan Chakraborty
World Earth Day is on 22 April. Earlier on FApril 19, members of People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) held a unique protest in, Kolkata. They demonstrated by wearing a black panka over himself. Protesters claim animal husbandry, including leather, is responsible for one-fifth of human-caused greenhouse gas emissions, which pollute rivers and canals, harming people and other creatures living there.
