Environment is being ignored in one development project after another in Chittagong. One development after another is being designed in Chittagong by destroying the environment. Hundreds of hundred-year-old trees are being cut down at Tigerpass for the construction of Chittagong Elevated Expressway ramp. Trees on the beautiful road from Tigerpass to Kadmatoli town have been marked for felling. Chittagong Development Authority said that these trees will be cut before the construction of the main infrastructure of the ramp after the soil test.
Earlier in 2021, an initiative was taken to build a hospital in CRB, a place surrounded by natural beauty and greenery. But the civil society protested against it. In the face of protests from the civil society, the hospital was not opened.
