Spain: Procession of Jesus Captive by Alberto Brevers
Procession of Jesús Captivo with the image of Jesús de Medinacelli has gone out through the streets of Avilés on this Holy Monday.
The Brotherhood of Nuestro Padre Jesús de la Esperanza accompanies the passage of Jesús Cautivo de Medinaceli. In this procession, Christ is represented bound, with his head wrapped in a crown of thorns and on his way to judgment before Pontius Pilate from the Garden of Olives. His position, upright and solitary, is intended to show the deep desolation of that moment when he, captured, was abandoned by his disciples in Gethsemane.
