India: Lok Sabha Polls in Kashmir

Kashmiri men and women take part in Lok Sabha Srinagar Parliamentary Constituency election on Monday 13 May. This is the first major election being held in Jammu and Kashmir after the abrogation of Article 370 and the bifurcation of the erstwhile state into two union territories of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh in 2019.

Viqarunnisa Noon School and College (VNSC) students are seen celebrating at a school after the SSC results have been published. Students of VNSC in the capital celebrated joyously, dancing and singing in the school field after receiving their anticipated results.

Students and parents arrived at Viqarunnisa from 10am to await results. The celebration right after the formal results were declared. During this time, everyone joined together in celebration, even playing drums and other musical instruments.

VNSC Principal Keka Roy Chowdhury said: "This time we had 2,206 candidates. 2,161 passed and 45 failed. Results of SSC and Equivalent Exams Published with 83.04% Pass Rate in Bangladesh

The combined pass rate in the Secondary School Certificate and equivalent examinations in Bangladesh slightly increased in 2024. The results published on Sunday showed that the combined pass rate this year stood at 83.04 per cent from 80.39 per cent in 2023. Meanwhile, the number of students securing grade point average of 5 decreased to 1,82,129 this year from 1,83,578 in the previous year. No students from 51 institutions passed this year. The number of such institutions was 48 in 2023. The number of educational institutions with a 100 per cent pass rate increased to 2,968 this year from 2,354 in 2023.
