Appearance of the halls of the pavilions of the 44th International Tourism Fair (FITUR) that closes the doors of a successful edition whose data reflects the growth that world tourism has experienced in the past year and feels the bases for its consolidation this year, on Saturday, January 27, 2024, at Ifema Madrid, in Madrid (Spain). FITUR has announced that throughout its five days it has received a total of 250,000 visitors, of which 153,000 have been professionals (from January 24 to 26) and more than 97,000 visitors who have attended during its two days open to the public (Saturday 27 and Sunday 28). These numbers, in line with the estimate made by Ifema Madrid, represent an increase of 13.7% compared to 2023. FITUR in its 2024 edition has also stood out for breaking the record for exhibition area, with a total of nine pavilions, one more than in 2023, as well as the consolidation of its global influence with 152 countries, 96 official country participations and an economic impact of 430 million euros. The event was attended by prominent leaders such as the president of Ecuador, Daniel Noboa, who this year was the partner country of the International Tourism Fair. In addition, nearly 400 authorities attended, including secretaries of state, counselors, ambassadors, mayors and other political groups; as well as 6,800 countries from 53 countries that have generated nearly 23,000 news items.
