Bangladesh: Fishing festival by Mostafijur Rahman Nasim
Polo fishing or group fishing is an amazing traditional festival in villagers in Bangladesh. People from several districts joined the area in a joyous mood. Usually, these open waterbodies preserve fishes all the year round. During the winter season, the water level in these vast water bodies drops and people jointly catches fishes with their locally-made nets, and other fishing gear. Most of the fishermen here catch fish and don't sell those. They eat those fishes with their family members as they are seasonal fishermen not professional ones. The fishing festival took place in Bhangura upazila of Pabna.
