Thousands of people dressed in Palestinian flags and banners with slogans against the genocide in Gaza, are seen on Saturday, November 18, 2023, while participating in a demonstration in solidarity with the Palestinian people, in Madrid (Spain). Almost 3,000 people, according to the Government Delegation, attended the demonstration called in Madrid by several organizations against the genocide in Gaza and the eviction of the Al-Shifa hospital, one of the most important in the region by the Palestinian authorities in response to an alleged forced evacuation order that the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) denies having issued, which has taken place completely normally and which started at noon in front of the Israeli embassy, on Velazquez Street, with a loud police device, and has culminated in front of the diplomatic headquarters of the United States, one of the countries that has supported Israel the most since its origin and that continues to be one of its main allies in the war that is being carried out in the Gaza Strip. Loop Palestinian flags and banners calling for a boycott of Israel and accusing the US and Europe of 'accomplices', among other messages, have accompanied the protesters, many of them dressed in the kufiya (the traditional Palestinian scarf). Gazan authorities have raised the death toll to more than 16,000 since Israel began attacking the Gaza Strip following the Hamas terrorist attack on October 7. (Photo by Hugo Ortuño)
