The golden season of Kashmir that paints the valley in the shades of Chinar’s fallen leaves. The season of autumn, known as 'HARUD' in Kashmiri language. The Chinar is a gigantic sized tree that grows in the Valley of Kashmir. It is famous for the colors of the foliage in autumn, when its red-gold and yellow leaves attract and inspiring all who see it.
Agha Shahid Ali was a Kashmiri-American poet, also wrote, "I will die, in autumn, in Kashmir, and the shadowed routine of each vein will almost be news, the blood censored,
for the Saffron Sun and the Times of Rain…."
