Indonesia: The World Press Photo 2019 exhibition par Kuncoro Widyo Rumpoko
The exhibition of winners of the World Press Photo 2019 was officially opened last night at the Dutch Cultural Center, Erasmus Huis, Jakarta, Thursday (5/9/2019). The exhibition, which will take place on September 6-26, 2019, will showcase the best photos of the winners of World Press Photo 2019 as an annual event for awards for photojournalists around the world. World Press Photo is the most prestigious competition for professional photojournalists and documentary photographers.
"This exhibition is held in more than 100 cities and 45 countries every year. Before it was exhibited around the world, this exhibition was also exhibited in Amsterdam last April," said Suzan van den Berg, Coordinator of the World Press Photo Exhibition at the opening of the exhibition last night.
Around 4,738 photographers from 129 countries took part in the 2019 World Press Photo contest. In total there are 78,801 photos selected by independent judges.
This year's winner photo as the World Press Photo of the Year is a photo titled Crying Girl on the Border rich photographer John Moore. And for the World Press Photo Story of the Year was won by the photographer Pieter Ten Hoopen's work with a photo titled The Migrant Caravan.
