India: A Musical Journey to a Greener World by Arpan Basu Chowdhury
There are millions of musicians in the world who entertain us every day through their extraordinary compositions and creations. But there are very few like Somenath Mukherjee and his family who create music with the environment and for the environment. His father Late Nirod Baron Bandhopadhyay was a famous musician and composer and music director not only that he created a Wooden Xylophone as he had no money to buy a original Xylophone. Inspired by their father Somenath Banerjee and Narayan Banerjee took the initiative to create music from anything which is easily available, which cost next to none and which can create sound. Somenath banerjee came up with the idea of creating music from the waste products which stay in the landfills for years and pollute our environment. He started experimenting with broken tiles, broken glasses in his home, further he created this: a musical instrument from the glass bottles of tomato ketchup. He poured water in the glass bottles in different altitude levels and it was a masterpiece. He inspires his son Saptarshi Banerjee and his elder brother's son Nishan Banerjee to join him and his brother and now the Team of Four is doing wonders not only by entertaining people but also by saving the nature.
