Every year on 21st July All India Trinamool Congress organises an annual rally named Martyr's Rally in remembrance of 13 people shot by West Bengal Police in Kolkata during a rally by the Youth Congress under Mamata Banerjee on 21st July,1993. Their demand was voter's identity card to be made. This year also All India Trinamool Congress organised the rally. Thousands of people from all over West Bengal participated in the rally. The stage of the rally was full of political leaders.Many of the participants came on the previous day by bus and they parked their bus in Maidan field and cooked food for themselves. This year their agenda was to get ballot box instead of the electronic voting machine(EVM) during the vote.
