World Refugee Day is observed June 20 each year internationally to raise awareness of the situation of refugees throughout the world. The UNHCR said there were 51.2 million forcibly displaced people at the end of 2013, a full six million higher than the previous year. World Refugee Day celebrated under the theme ‘Standing for Refugees'. The United Nations High Commission for Refugees has said that Pakistan is home to the largest refugee population in the world, according to a report published by the international body.
