India: AIUTUC motor van drivers organized a rally by Avijit Ghosh
Thousands of Sara Bangla Motor van Chalok Union members, under AIUTUC has organized a peaceful protest rally and filed a sevenfold demands deputation to the West Bengal Labour Minister on August 23, 2017 in Kolkata. The rally started from Subodh Mullick Square and they gathered around RR avenue, Esplanade, Kolkata. Their demands are as follows
1. The motor van drivers should be given Government Identity cards.
2. The motor van drivers should be affiliated under West Bengal Transport Workers’ Social Security Scheme, 2010.
3. In no circumstances Motor Van transportation should be banned.
4. Every Motor van drivers must be issued Temporary Identity Number.
5. They must be given Government license as soon as possible.
6. Government should open accidental insurances for the motor van drivers.
7. Police and government assaults must be stopped
