Poland: Accursed Soldiers Awarded During Ceremony by Anna Ferensowicz
The National Day of Remembrance is for Accursed Polish soldiers, who were part of the anti-communist and independence underground. It was adopted in 2001, when the Polish parliament decided that, “It recognized the merits of organizations and groups for independence, which after the Second World War, decided to take up the unequal struggle for sovereignty and independence of Polish, giving thus a tribute to the fallen and murdered and all the imprisoned and persecuted organization Freedom and Independence”. In the capital, Warsaw, a number of ceremonies were held, which included Polish President, Andrzej Duda.
