Spain: Protest against Francisco Franco in Madrid by Jorge Sanz
Around 100 people gathered at 'Puerta del Sol' in Madrid to protest against Impunity for crimes of Francisco Franco, and to demand justice for victims and relatives. After Cambodia, Spain is the country with most number of unidentified victims. Protesters celebrated the beginning, on next Monday 23 April, of the exhumation works of the remains of two brothers, executed by General Francisco Franco's troops in 1936, from the Valley of the Fallen, the monument containing Franco's tomb where at least 33,000 Spanish Civil War victims are also interred.
