Indonesia: Hindus worship ahead of Nyepi by Tubagus Aditya Irawan
Balinese Hindu prays with an offering and carries giant effigy during the Tawur Kesanga traditional religious ceremony in the Wira Satya Bhuana temple, Jakarta. The ceremony held annually to commemorate the Balinese Hindu New Year, year of Saka 1939, known as Nyepi. Nyepi is a day of silence when people abstain from their activities such as from using lights, work, travel and all kind of entertainment for self-reflection.
