Idols of Goddess Durga along with her children are being prepared and getting final touches at Kumartuli, the Artisans hub of Kolkata, just ahead of Durga Puja, the biggest festival of Bengal. The celebration will continue for about a week, starting from 10th of this month. As the City of Joy is about to witness its greatest grandeur in less than a week’s wait , evidently Kumartuli witnessing a large number of crowd even in this pandemic situation. Couples are gathering over the place to get their portraits done along with the idol of the Goddess as a part of Prewedding Shoots or the trending ‘Agomoni Shoot’. The Kolkata High Court imposed several restrictive laws to prevent further spread of Covid-19 in the festive season as the citizens are seemed to be quite high spirited, often forgetting Covid protocols and social distancing norms.
