India: 'Guru Nanak Guruparva'-Spirituality rules by Shikha Arya
The birthday of the founder of the Sikh religion 'Shri Guru Nanak Dev' was celebrated on 19th November 2021 in India on the day of the full moon. The pious day holds special significance for the Sikh community as it is the birthday of their Lord. The 'Prakash Utsav', the lighting of candles and lamps is observed on this day beside the water pool at the Gurudwara. Amidst the covid restrictions, the festival was celebrated with full vigor and enthusiasm at the Gurdwara Bangla Saheb, the biggest Gurudwara in Delhi.
The entire Sikh community along with people from other religions visit the Gurudwara on this day.A 'langar' is run 24*7 at the Gurudwara wherein people get free food as 'prasad' or the ' god's offering' .Stalls were set up in the compound for people during the Guruparb celebrations.
