NY: Hundreds protest over-policing in NYC by Michael Nigro
Hundreds took to the streets and dozens were arrested on Friday, January 31, 2020, during a day of “city-wide transit action” in New York City. The various political and activist groups who organized the protest utilized a diversity of tactics throughout the day -- including banner drops, blocking traffic and vandalism -- all of which were intended to broadcast their demands of free public transit, all police out of the subways, an end to the harassment of vendors, performers, and full accessibility of those with varying abilities.
