Pakistani people visit the River Ravi as the sun sets ending the longest day of the year in Lahore. A Pakistan Meteorological Department official said that June 22 is the longest day in the country and are called the summer solstice.The longest day on June 22 marks the peak of summer when the sun comes closest to the northern hemisphere. Solstice is defined as either of the two times of the year at which the sun is farthest north or south of the equator.The winter solstice falls on December 22 in these countries, he said. On June 22 sunrise was at 04:55 hours and sunset will be at 19:24 hours.
