A heatwave is sweeping across Bangladesh, including the capital city Dhaka. The Meteorological Department has issued a heat alert, warning people of the dangers of extreme heat.
Temperatures have soared to over 42 degrees Celsius in some parts of the country. This has led to a number of health problems, including heatstroke and dehydration, all educational institutions in the country closed for 7 days.
Amidst the ongoing heatwave, a group of children have taken to the water in the hope of cooling down, despite the health risks. The heatwave is expected to continue for several days.
