Expectations run high as Miss World Philippines 2018 Katarina Rodriguez gears up for the much-awaited Miss World pageant scheduled on December 8 in Sanya, China.
Since day one, Katarina has been a clear favorite among pageant fans and critics alike, and her Miss World 2018 victory doesn't come as a surprise.
"Katarina has the poise and regal bearing of a winning queen," remarks Miss World Philippines National Director Arnold Vegafria.
"But more than that, she's a woman of substance, and it shows the minute she starts talking about her passions, her advocacies, and how this new chapter in her life can help shine the spotlight on more deserving causes and advocates."
The 68th edition of the globally-renowned pageant is scheduled to be held in the popular beach city of Sanya in Southern Chin's island province of Hainan.
This year's competition marks the eight time that the annual event will be held in Sanya.
Contestants from around 120 countries will start arriving in Sanya on November 9 to take part in the festivities for the month-long Miss World Festival.
The Miss World Pageant, created in 1951, is one of the oldest and most influential beauty pageants in the world.
