UN Security Council debates North Korean prolifera by Andy Katz
The United Nations Security Council, presided over by UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, met to debate a unified response to North Korea's increased development of nuclear weapons and ballistic missile systems capable of delivering them. Speaking for the US was Secretary of State, Rex Tillerson, among other top diplomats including Sweden's Margot Wolstrom.
After hearing remarks from high level permanents members including US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson, Great Britain's Minister of Asia & Pacific Affairs Mark Field and Sweden's Foreign Minster Margot Wallstrom, North Korean representative Ja Song Nam read a rebuttal that in part cited US ally Japan as the principle threat to stability in the Asia-Pacific region.
