Greece: Former Spanish PM met with Greek President by Dimitrios Karvountzis
Former Prime Minister of Spain Felipe Gonzalez has met with President of Hellenic Republic Prokopis Pavlopoulos. Greek President has said: I am delighted to welcome you to the Presidency of the Republic. And I want to congratulate the Mayor of Athens, Mr. Kaminis, for the award of the "Athens City Democracy Prize" to you.
All your life, whether in the capacity of the Prime Minister, but in general of the politician, was and is a constant struggle for democracy and Europe.
You are one of those who struggled and struggled for Europe and European Integration in critical times. Further former Spanish Prime Minister said: I would like to thank you for your welcome, Mr President.
I would also like to tell you that I am now at the end of my course, let's say politically, and it is even more important for me to defend democracy. Democracy not only as an ideology but as an organization to be able to coexist in a democratic and pluralistic world as a way of government.
Given that we have a crisis of governance and a crisis in our countries, because of this fact, democratic representation not only in Europe but everywhere in the world is something that we are particularly fond of. And we can do our best to strengthen it all the better for the benefit of all our peoples.
