Thailand: Supreme Court repealed petition on 2010 by Thitinun Sampiphat
The Supreme Court repeals petition from the Special public prosecutor’s files against Abhisit Vejjajiva (อภิสิทธิ์ เวชชาชีวะ), former Prime Minister of Thailand and his deputy, Suthep Thaugsuban (สุเทพ เทือกสุบรรณ). They were charges on joint killing and try to killing others case from the 2010 violence military crackdown on United Front of Democracy Against Dictatorship; (UDD) Aka Red Shirt protestors. Almost 100 shot deaths and over 2,000 injured.
The judge gave the reason that advocated to the two lower court’s decision. The case shouldn’t be under investigation of the Criminal Court. It should be rather under the National Counter Corruption Commission (NACC) and then submitted to the Supreme Court’s Criminal Division for Political Position holders. It wasn’t a criminal case but it’s Misconduct case.
